CES 2016 is upon us, and so are this year’s hottest tech trends. We’ll be covering the convention today through Saturday, so be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook, and keep your eyes on the blog for updates on the latest consumer electronics.
2016’s Biggest Tech Trends
With the Apple and Samsung watches hitting shelves in 2015, the Fitbit and similar products being used by millions, and Google Glass resurrecting once again, wearables are one of the biggest technology trends on the market. Keep an eye out for smart clothes and mobile products to stay current with the CES 2016 reveals.
The Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Playstation VR are all set to debut this year, and there are sure to be plenty more to follow in the years to come. Watch for 3D cameras, mobile VR and augmented reality technologies at this year’s convention.
Our homes are starting to fill with “smart” devices, like dryers that know when our clothes are dry before the allotted cycle time is up, thermostats that know our schedule and adjust the temperature accordingly or lights that wake us up with a faux sunrise in the morning. To help keep up with the latest innovations, watch out for more augmentations to our homes, like smart batteries and robot companions.
The commercial and consumer uses for drones are endless, so expect to see a few new applications at this year’s CES. With the FAA considering regulations on domestic commercial drones, it’s only a matter of time before we see Amazon’s Prime Air delivery drones landing in our backyards.
This is just a small taste of what CES 2016 will have to show us, so stay tuned for more updates as the convention begins. For the full list of vendors and products, check out this comprehensive unveiling by the Consumer Technology Association.
